Access to your Information
Except as set out below, you are the only one who will have access to your Content and other information in your VeriDID Wallet. VeriDID does not collect any personal information or other information from you through the VeriDID Wallet unless you choose to share your information, as described below.
Your wallet PIN
You create a wallet PIN when you use the VeriDID Wallet. Your wallet PIN is used only to unlock the VeriDID Wallet. It is stored locally on your device and is not accessible to VeriDID or to third parties through the VeriDID Wallet.
Device Security and Biometrics
You can set the VeriDID Wallet to unlock with your device’s biometric security instead of your wallet PIN. With device security, when you open the VeriDID Wallet application it will ask your device operating system to prompt you to authenticate. The VeriDID Wallet application will receive confirmation if you were authenticated but will never gain access to your biometric information or device password.
Use of the camera
The camera is activated temporarily when you select the “Scan” button inside the VeriDID Wallet. The camera is used only to identify a QR code, so you can receive credentials or send information from credentials. The VeriDID Wallet does not use or store any other camera information.
Notification of information sharing
The VeriDID Wallet notifies you and requires your consent each time you choose to send personal information to any services that you interact with. You receive a notification and consent request each time you are about to send information using your digital credentials, and you can confirm, if you wish to continue, or to decline sharing that information.
Usage information
Information about your use of the VeriDID Wallet is stored within the VeriDID Wallet and is not shared by the VeriDID Wallet without your consent.
Information Shared from the VeriDID Wallet
You may choose to use the VeriDID Wallet to send credential information or a message to another party, including a service offered by VeriDID. When you share credential information, the issuer of the credential is not informed.
Applicable Laws
Information collected by VeriDID is subject to the laws applicable in Canada.
